On the day before Thanksgiving in 2015, I reported to the cubicle of my 8 to 5 job for the final time. I was leaving to pursue my passion for a career in health and fitness and while I knew the general direction I was heading, there was definitely no clear path. I wanted to create a name and a logo that would inspire me and identify my work as a health advocate, but my original ideas, drawings, and doodles fell short of the mark, so I decided to give it some time and trust that the answers would come.
As I began teaching and taking on new clients, I was watching them make amazing transformations and I realized that this new way of life was providing a sense of fulfillment that I had never known before. In the back of my mind, I kept hearing a message my mom used to say to me, “you can be anything you want to be when you put your mind to it.” It would frustrate me as a kid because somehow I felt pressure to know what I wanted to be, but now I realize that she was spot on and that message holds true for anyone wanting to make a change. Essentially this became the message behind the name Alt Vitality and the idea that we can align, lengthen and tone to reach our highest potential in life. As luck would have it, these initials are also befitting to my mother’s, Antonia Lee Thierolf (1952-2013).
In order to reach our highest potential, we need to support our bodies in an effort to have healthy cells. Cells are the building blocks that form our bodies and give us the energy to do all the things we want to do. The Alt Vitality logo is a depiction of a healthy cell with the initials written to represent a strong and vibrant heartbeat. My hope is that every time you see this image, you are prompted to check in on the status of your own cells. Are they getting the essential nutrients needed to provide the energy you desire? Do you have habits you would like to kick in order to help support your cells? Or are there new habits you would like to create to help your cells work better? Do you believe that you can align, lengthen and tone for vitality?
PS. Can you find the cute little cell nucleus?
